Fall Orchestra

Orchestra

The next two posts are songs from Ellie's recent orchestra concert.  I am always so impressed by the music they can play.  This is all 9th grade students at their first high school concert.  Enjoy!!

Seasons have switched

We have moved from volleyball and football to hockey and dance.  So far dance is doing lots of practicing and Sam has had two hockey games.  His team has tied both games.  He is a Pee Wee C player this year.  Ellie is on the Varsity Kick and Jazz team for Austin High School.  It is going to be such a fun and busy winter this year!

Homecoming

I am still getting used to saying I have a girl in high school.   And this moment was even harder- off to a Homecoming Dance.  She went with a group of friends but it is a big deal in Austin.  We bought the right dress, did the hair, had dinner with lots of 9th graders, and then off to the dance.  Ellie said it was really fun!

Yes with a little help from friends I accomplished this hair-do.

Love that these girls have so much fun together

Many 9th graders got together for supper before hand

Who doesn't love being a Champion

Sam's 6th grade football team had a great season.  They ended being the Champions. So great to get to see them learning, having fun, and winning too!

Loving being a sports' mom

Sam is loving football this year!  He is playing 5th/6th grade youth football and his team the Cowboys, is undefeated.  I am having fun watching and trying to learn a little more about the game.  He plays tackle on both the offense and defense.

Ellie is on the Austin Packer High School B-squad volleyball team.  She has been having an exciting season of some wins and some losses.  This week is homecoming week for our High School so we hope for  a win at Thursday's game.

What the first day of school was almost a month ago????

Ellie started 9th grade- yes her first year of high school and Sam is back at IJ Holten Intermediate school for 6th grade.  I am happy to say we are almost a month into school and everyone is happy with school!  I am back at Woodson Kindergarten Center teaching special education and I love that I am back there for another year!

Happy Birthday To You!

Sam had fun ice skating with friends on his BD!

Sam's hockey puck cake made by his dad
Ellie had a popcorn themed party.  Here she is with popcorn cupcakes made by her dad and her other treats.  She and her friends hung out and had an outdoor movie set up in our backyard.

National Honor Society

Ellie was lucky to be a part of the National Junior Honor Society.  Here she is reading about one of the pillars of the society as new members were welcomed in. At this same celebration Ellie got an award for her grades during this past year.  Ellie is a self-driven girl that continues to amaze me.  Can't believe she is next off to high school!

Last Day of School

I can't believe it actually has already been a few weeks since the last day of school.  I am finally working on the blog and have some spring photos and videos to post.  We are now enjoying  little free time along with summer time sports.
Happy Last Day of School

Paint the Rink Pink- Squirt B Style

Austin raises money for Cancer research at the Hormel Institute in a variety of ways.  One of these is our "Paint the Town Pink" activities in January and February.  The Austin Youth Hockey teams really got into it this year.  The kids have pink jerseys and they auctioned them off to families to raise money after the game.   Here are a few photos from the fun and their big win 9-1 over Red Wing.  Yes Sam Eyre did get one of those 9 goals!!
