A Kindergarten Christmas Concert

Sam is in the top row wearing a plaid shirt, tie, and vest.  He sang alot but seemed very serious.  It was so much fun to watch this concert.  Here are two of the songs they did.

After the concert I was able to stay for story time and lunch.  Kindergarten was a great place to be.  Next Friday I'm off to Banfield Elementary to see Ellie's program and enjoy lunch with her.  :)

'Tis the Season to be Jolly...

It has been a while since I posted anything.  I'm happy to say I've completed two college classes this fall and have a little break until sometime in January.  Ellie and Sam both made their parents proud with the report cards and continue to love school.  Dave's ice shack is becoming a MN Vikings ice shack instead of it's beautiful bright blue and he is looking forward to it soon hitting the ice.  The next couple of videos are just great!-Ok I'm the mom I can say that!!  Look for more holiday fun coming up!

Snow much fun

Saturday was quite the day:  Left Austin in Rain, turns to sleet in Northfield, and snow/slush by Lakeville- by the time we get to St. Paul there's enough snow to play outside.  After an emergency trip to Walmart for some snow gear we didn't have, the kids had a great time.

Fun at the Game

Sam felt like one of the guys getting to go to a Gopher's game with Dad.  He even enjoyed the after game scene with Uncle Colin and Dad at Buffalo Wild Wings.   Sam's next announcement was, "Dad will take me to a Vikings game some day."  He is right some day???
I'm going to the game!

Dad even bought me a new football!!

Now here's some cute Gopher's fans!

Just For Kix

Ellie started Just For Kix, a dance class this fall.   She is loving it!  She is smiling at dance, during her many minutes of practicing at home, and grinning at the end of this performance.  They danced at the beginning of the Austin Packer Football game last night.  Enjoy the show- we sure did!

Cheerleading

Ellie went to the YMCA cheer camp last Saturday and then got to cheer at the Austin Packer's Football game last night.   Here's a little video of the fun she had.  She is the 2nd from the right.
PS.  I used my new Sony Handycam to make this video.  I was going to buy a Flip video but the guy convinced me I'd want the zoom of this camara for being a mom in the stands.  I think he was right.  In a couple weeks Ellie dances at the game so let's hope I get a video of that too.

Too Much Rain

Austin got plenty of rain in the past couple of days as much of the southern part of MN did.  Today it was simply too much and we had some flooding.  No school today- I couldn't have gotten to work or Sam to school without some detours.  We live above where it floods so we are all good.  We did take Ellie and Sam on a couple of drives to see the water as this was their first flooding experience.  Let's hope for no more in a long time but we did move to a town with quite a flooding history.  The pictures below are from a park only a couple of blocks and down the hill from us.

Football has begun!

Austin Packer's biggest fans!
The team and coaches are hard at work!
* We have started the season with two losses but we improved from week 1 so it can only get better.  The kids and I along with other family members blew away last Friday, last night we got soaked and left before it started.  The game was later cancelled so tonight the kids and I enjoyed perfect weather at the football game.  As Sam says- Go Packers but not the Green Bay Packers!

School Year

Yes, it really did happen- summer vacation is over.  I started college the last week of August and school/work for everyone started last week.  We have managed to get up and out of the house pretty smoothly each morning. The kids are at different schools so Dave takes Ellie and I take Sam.  Now that's some team work.   Ellie is in 3rd grade and loving it.  Sam started kindergarten and thinks it's great.  As you'll see in the school pictures mom is not pictured.  This mom has some issues when her "babies" go to kindergarten.  I held it together until right after I dropped Sam off at school.  I drove with tears a few blocks and then got it together to start my new assignment of co-teaching pre-k to four and five year olds.  It is going great so far.  Dave's response to how his week has gone- long!  I'm guessing his teenagers are not as cute as my pre-k students.  This week I start my second college class, Ellie starts piano and Just for Kix dance classes.   Yep- never a dull moment at this house.

End of Summer

We spent one of our last days of summer enjoying "Chop's Lake" aka Lake Zumbro.  It was a beautiful day with fun had by all.   Thanks also to the Link family for hosting a picnic!

A Fabulous Visit to Granite Falls

Our visit to Grandma Mary Ann's and Grandpa Tom's was full of fun!  There was babysitting my dear friend Lisa's baby, going to a rodeo, girl's day out in Marshall, Sam and grandpa's big bike ride, and of course helping work at the popcorn stand.  I really don't know who had more fun- the grandparents, daughter, or grandchildren!  Thanks G and G for a wonderful time!

Special People

My kids are lucky enough to have great grandparents and a very special great-great Aunt.  Grandma Gene and Grandpa Wally were able to visit our home for lunch recently.  It was so much fun to see them along with my Auntie Ann and Aunt Cathy.  Then on our way to GF we were able to visit Aunt Margie in Worthington.  Grandpa Howard and his friend Emily came too.  That same day we also were able to have my mom's godfather and wife meet our kids.  What a couple of neat visits.

Swimming Fun

Sam has improved even from this video.  He tries to swim underwater and on his back now.

Ellie Can Dive!!!  I don't have video of her doing her perfect dive off the side but I think this is quite impressive of the diving board.

Sam rides a bike

It may be time for mom to buy a bike.  Sam can now ride all by himself.  I can hardly keep up with him and his sister as I walk.

A Little Birthday Fun

Sam and Ellie had a birthday with friends and even
cousins now that we live close by. Everyone had a
good time at the bowling alley. Dad made the cakes
again this year. Batman for Sam and ICarly for Ellie.
Thanks dad!

T-Ball Time

Ellie and Sam at Swimming Lessons

Ellie is having a grea time at swimming lessons this year. Mom is having fun with the many swimming memories that come back to her as she sits at the outdoor pool.

Sam is now dunking his head, jumping in by himself, and trying to with or without a noodle. He informed me that he's trying to swim by himself but keeps sinking.

Family Gathering

This was such a special day for the Eyre Family. We think the last time we were all together for something fun was at our wedding. These pictures include many of the family members on the Eyre side. We are excited to say after celebrating a 50th wedding anniversary all together we've decided a yearly summer family gathering is a necessity.

Who can't resist S'mores when camping??
