Family Fun

We had a wonderful time at Randy's sister's wedding today.  It was a gorgeous outdoor wedding at Blooms of Love in Dodge Center, MN.  We took advantage of the beautiful backround with a few photos.
So dad is at the Gopher's Game, but we look pretty cute.

Love this photo- I think they look quite amazing- oh ya- I am their mother and may be a bit biased!

Homecoming 2011

It has been a busy week of practice for the Austin Packers, they wanted to prove themselves at the Homecoming game.  The guys played their hearts out.  The score was 18-13 with less than two minutes to go.  Packers moved down the field making great plays- then with less than a second an interception leads to the score ending 24-13.  It was heartbreaking- well actually stomach flipping- it was so exciting and yet nerve wracking.  A bummer of a loss but amazing effort by a great team.
Taking One for the Team
Dave decided one way to get his players pumped up for practice and the upcoming game was to actually suit up and practice with them.  As you can tell he was really taking some hits.  -that crazy guy but it must have worked there was some hard hitting/blocking tonight.
Getting ready for the Homecoming game- Face paint and all.  Sam was sad at bedtime because it would come off.  I let him know we can always paint more on.

Ellie even had a little red sprayed into her hair.  Curious how it washes out-
Game 1 of flag football.  Sam is having a great time.  I'm sure I will post more video soon.  :)

Fall Excitement

Ellie has been hoping that she could not only be in the kix class of Just for Kix but also the jazz class too.  We spent all summer saying with our work schedules we couldn't get there, but at the last minute more than one dance mom offered to take her.  Ellie's summer dream came true so she is off to dance now on Monday and Thursdays.  Sam has been waiting for at least 1/2 his life to play football.  This year that dream has come true- flag football has just begun. Saturday Sam had a football camp with the Austin Packer coaches and players, then  Sunday he and his dad went shopping for cleats- I don't know who was more excited about the weekend.  Today Sam had his first practice and by next week they will play a game of flag football.   Tuesdays and Thursdays through mid-October I will be a football mom.
Dave said this is an amazing stance- so I guess that is good!

The First Day

It was a first day of the 2011-2012 school year for all of us.  Here's the report:
Ellie:  It was great.  Reading was so fun!  I sit by... a list of friends.
Sam: It wasn't good.  Mom: Why?  Sam: All we did when we came inside was the sit on the carpet. Mom: Do you want to go to Kindergarten again?  I can call Mrs. Becker. Sam:  with  a smile- you can?    Hmm- thankfully later he told his dad 1st grade was good.  Let's hope day two has a happier report.  :)
Laura:  My classes are great.  I'm so happy to be back with my little 4 and 5 year olds.  The hugs, smiles, and of course watching them learn are so amazing.
Dave:  I'm going to have to get used to this stuff again.  We had the usual 1st day reminders of how the year is going to work in my classroom.  (I believe this is the reminder I'm the teacher- you're the student and follow my rules speech.)
