A Christmas Story

I had never seen the movie, "A Christmas Story" until I met Dave.  It has now become a Christmas tradition to watch it at least once if not having it on for the full 24 hours that it is on at Christmas time.  Uncle Tony has renamed Sam, Ralphie - Sam really does resemble him with his hair and glasses.  Dave told his mom and I he only wanted the official sized leg lamp.  How could we not follow through with that.

In the movie Ralphie puts his hand on the leg and gazes at the lamp- Uncle Tony put Sam up to recreating the scene.

*If you are wondering this beautiful lamp decorates "Man Land".  It actually looks pretty good- I think it may reappear upstairs as a Christmas decoration 1/year too.

*Although there are no photos I am enjoying my new Kindle Touch from Dave - I might actually get my book read for book club.  I also got wonderful gifts from my children, parents, and inlaws.

A few presents

Christmas morning was spent together at our house and the afternoon and evening was spent with Dave's family in Rochester.  Ellie said it was the best Christmas ever- thinking it was due to the iPod Touch from Santa.  Sam of course got some great toys and his very first robe.   I love watching their smiles and of course the initial check to see if Santa was here.

Spam Museum

So after 3 years of living in Austin, we decided to check out the Spam Museum.  Uncle Colin, Dave, the kids and I enjoyed our little outing.  In fact the kids can't wait to go back again.

Merry Christmas from Granite Falls

We celebrated Christmas in Granite Falls in early December.  We had almost all cousins together, grandma and grandpa, aunts and uncles, and Aunt Margie.  It made for a fun family weekend.  I personally felt time went way to fast and shed my usual good-bye tears.

It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas

Well it wouldn't be a typical Lori Line concert weekend if it wasn't a little wintery.  Last weekend 6 of my friends and I met in Burnesville to enjoy the Lori Line concert.  The day began cloudy and then ended with slippery snow.  My sister Becky and I visited the ditch for the first time, but it all worked out. (Oops forgot to say we did enjoy the concert!) We then spent the evening celebrating our Grandma's 85th birthday as it continued to snow.  The next morning the kids couldn't wait to get out into the fun.  I had to take a photo as this was the 2nd year in a row the kids played in the first snow in my Grandma and Grandpa's back yard.

Thanksgiving Day

Thanks giving was such a beautiful day.  We took an afternoon walk to the park in only long sleeves.  The kids had a great time with their sweet little cousin Hayleigh.  We were lucky to have her and her mom and dad visiting from Kansas.  We fit in some fun times and Grandma and Grandpa's in Rochester and at our house while they were here.



Ellie's Turn

Although it was a bit chilly, Ellie and her dad enjoyed a day of Gopher football.  Ellie got to do lunch with dad and Uncle Colin, watch the band, enjoy the game, make dad wait in line for 20 minutes for mini donuts, and really just have a great time! By the way when Dave commented on waiting in line for mini donuts he simply said, "She doesn't ask for much".  :)
